Dark Rider is a melee attack ground hero of the tank class. His skills are designed to provide shielding and damage reduction from attacks for himself, other heroes and the executioner mercenaries. He has high HP stats and his fortitude evolutions also increase the HP and armor of the Town Hall when stationed in the heroes hall. 

The most effective equipment for him would most liekly be the Dragon Heart which will take advantage of his high HP and add to the DMG reduction provided by his skill.
